Aphelotes ("we," "us") helps churches share items, services, and prayer requests within their communities. This policy explains what information we handle and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Account info — name and email when you sign in (via our auth provider, Clerk).
- Church & membership — church profile details, admin settings, and member/lister emails tied to a congregation.
- Listings & requests — titles, descriptions, tags, and locations. Item listings may include a submitter email. Service listings may include optional contact email and phone so others can reach you.
- Billing — payment and subscription details processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage — basic technical logs (e.g. pages requested, errors) needed to run and secure the service.
How we use information
- Provide and improve the Aphelotes catalog, search, embeds, and admin tools.
- Authenticate users and manage church membership / listing permissions.
- Process subscriptions and related billing support.
- Communicate about account, security, or service issues.
Sharing
Listings, services, and some prayer content may be visible to others in your church catalog (and, depending on settings, in cross-church search or embeds). Item submitter emails and service contact email/phone are meant for other members to reach the person who posted.
We use service providers who process data on our behalf (for example Clerk for auth, Stripe for payments, and our hosting/database providers). We do not sell your personal information.
Retention & security
We keep information while your account or church subscription is active and as needed for legal, security, and billing records. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service is perfectly secure.
Your choices
You can update or remove listings you control, and request account or data help by emailing us. Church admins control membership and moderation for their congregation.
Children
Aphelotes is intended for adults involved in church administration and community sharing, not for children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do.
